Join contestI’ve got a new brake for the PRS/NRL folks. I’m patent pending and done with prototyping, and on to production. I don’t have any dates for completion yet, but soon. Will only be available for the Bravo style threads. More styles will come, but only after testing/tweaking is done.(no timeline)
Testing has been done on several different cartridges, and only on the SiCo Scythe Ti or STM. 6 BR, 6 Dasher, 25 Creed, 25X47(most testing done), and 6.5 creed. I’ve been working directly with Patty Youngs on the MDT team amongst a few other team or supported MDT team members. This brake is a result of countless hours and rounds down range.
I can confidently say, with the backing of the guys that have helped design or given their input, that it’s as good or better than a traditional muzzle brake for muzzle rise.
I have folks making YouTube videos so you can get the info for yourself. But what these top 20 PRS guys are saying, is it is as flat or flatter than their brake. (You fill in the blanks for company’s) Were seeing that positional shooting is getting .5 mil, sometimes less for rise.
Sneak peak at a prototype. (Does not reflect end product, although will be very similar.)
Very excited for this one. I’ve taken everything I know about muzzle brakes, and some of the challenges unique to suppressors to help recoilx make something truly remarkable, and I hope you all enjoy it.
Side note, if you don’t have a scythe, you’ll want one, my preference has been the STM version but I know other guys that like the Ti just fine if that’s what you’ve got.

I'm guessing this is in the 5.1" config? Were seeing that positional shooting is getting .5 mil, sometimes less for rise.
I’ve used both my Ti and STM for PRS, I’ve heard about the issues but haven’t had a problem myself.Sounds great.
I'm a bit scared to use my scythe ti with PRS style match shooting volume with all of the failures that have been reported.. Maybe the STM are more durable?
Performance is very similar between the short config STM and the Ti. We haven’t done a ton of testing on the long STM for obvious reasons, a longer suppressor means a longer recoil impulse and less gas to work the brake.I'm guessing this is in the 5.1" config?

I don’t have a weight on the full production “comp” brake yet. It’s going to be made of similar materials as to what I currently offer. (Jam nut will be SS) Lots more info will be coming out soon. What is the weight like on these?
THIS! I have been impressed with the current offereing and am going to need this for my Nomad.I’ll take a bravo one but please please consider making Dead Air/Diligent Defense as well!
I’m already rolling on production, so it’s going to be weeks. I don’t have a set timeline yet. When it gets closer I’ll let y’all know.@RecoilXBrakes just happened upon the La Perla challenge episode with the new brake. Are we weeks or months away? Setting up rifles for fall competitions and just curious.
Here’s a link for some more info on the new comp brake Patty and I designed. Should be available by the end of August.
Likely going into production for DA/DDC after the run for Bravo. Need to test and maybe “tune” for performance. So when can I get a G2 for my Nomad?
Awesome. Can't wait.Likely going into production for DA/DDC after the run for Bravo. Need to test and maybe “tune” for performance.
That’d be different, with a brake in front of it already.Would be interesting on my new RXD30 as well.

I know, I just like to tinkerThat’d be different, with a brake in front of it already.
Once you have one of these with a 338 bore for dead air threading, I know what's going on my DT SRS and staying there.-gen 2 preview-
I’d do something more like Simple Green and scrub it a little if you needed to.Any concerns with soaking these things in the breakthrough suppressor cleaning solution?
Same. I was expecting it to not be this high.Ouch $275? Gonna pass on this one.
New jam nuts are being made right now. They’re made from heat treated 17-4 SS(same as the comp model) they’ll have 3 spanner flats to get it nice and tight.Ouch $275? Gonna pass on this one. But I'll keep my current G1. Hoping the locking collar is better on this next one. Because my current loosens all the time. View attachment 8737383
These new brakes are full 5th axis and multiple op machining. Much more expensive to make, and yes, patents are not cheap. But all worth it.not entirely surprising given the size, extra machining complexity vs the gen 1, concentricity requirements, and how much of a pain in the ass it is to find a decent coatings vendor for small batch jobs.
also the patent process isn't cheap
@RecoilXBrakes Guessing based on the pricing that these are also DFARS compliant so that they meet requirements if certain US entities express interest?
We’re in production with the 3 port now. As soon as that’s done, will be prototyping and testing for Enticer and Nomad suppressors. Hopefully very soon. Other DA suppressors should work, but the diameter of brake will fit the larger diameter cans much more appropriately. When are the new ones for the Nomads going to be available?
