The Sonoran Desert 11S11E
I have been a hunter since I was 7, mostly shotguns, pursuing ducks, geese, rabbits, and quail in the Midwest with my grandpa. I moved to Tucson 11 years ago and love the desert. Here, I hunt coyotes and have become addicted. I started shooting rifles a couple years ago (discovered SH then and have been lurking and learning ever since) and just got a Ruger Precision Rifle in 6mm Creedmoor for my birthday (yesterday). I'll be putting a Nightforce scope on it and am looking forward to learning more.

I recommend learning before joining SH so you can avoid the fates of Paparockcal and Buddly (those threads were high comedy and should be required reading for all newbies). Thanks for reading the novel and thanks to all of those who take the time to educate those of us who need it.

Welcome from Chandler! Seems like you may have taken a wiser approach to joining up than most. :ROFLMAO:
Chandler? Awesome- my son lives up there so I am up there often. As far as "wiser", man those two threads, while not college, were certainly a solid education. Moral of the story- above all else, be humble on the Hide. Thanks for the welcome, Basher!

We drove through the Sonoran on our last time coming back from Vegas.

Here; we're told we live in high desert (4350ft), and it's a whole lot different from the Sonoran.

I love it.

Folks tell me to look for the rattlers with the green on their hides, they're Sonoran Rattlesnakes, and supposedly aggressive as all heck. I've seen two, both dead on the road. Seems folks aim for them especially.

I leave snakes alone, they control rodents and help curb rabies. When we have coyotes and such trotting down the middle of the streets at 2:00AM in our little burg of Sunsites, I'm glad for the rattlers.

Heard one last week. Seems on the first day of Autumn, the Javelina saw her shadow; so six more weeks of Summer comin'...
