Baddest A** Scope Rings?

Aadland Rings

Re: Baddest A** Scope Rings?

Blackhawk and countersniper in the same breath as Leupold and Spuhr...:shudder:

Avoid anything Countersniper makes. They're all marketing and their products have become the benchmark for how NOT to build a scope.

Aadland, Seekins, Badger, Leupold Mk4, Nightforce, ARC, Spuhr, GDI...all trusted brands and plenty of options all over the price range.

So what does a guy get with a mount over rings? Logically seems more rigid but is the added cost worth it? </div></div>

Please have a look at this pdf.
When you have done that you are probably considering a mount.
To me an important deciding factor is the type of gun, and what stock it have.

Jared makes a really nice set. I am going from NF to these now. <object width="425" height="350"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/OAVBDcfnDuo&feature=youtube_gdata_player"></param> <param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OAVBDcfnDuo&feature=youtube_gdata_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"> </embed></object>

Are these available yet? Last I saw they were still pre-production.

Re: Baddest A** Scope Rings?

These weren't on your list but worth looking into if you come across a set for a fair price. This a set I recently picked up and had Todd Jackson Cerakoted black for me.

+1

Seekins make a 6/4 ring set. The ARC M10 are very cool. SPHUR look weird to me and are expensive. I have to give the strongest badass overkill rings to APA.

Re: Baddest A** Scope Rings?

My experience ranks these brands:
1- Seekins. Excellent strength, fit/finish, reliability, value, and company support. The only thing missing from their offerings is a canted one-piece mount.

2- Spuhr. Same as above, except value (subjective), and if you do not follow the mounting instructions exactly (i.e. use of Brownell's Rosin and blue Loctite neither were required for my Seekins rings), your scope can slip in the rings. Ask me how I know! I will say that Spuhr has the best and most versatile one-piece mount I know of.

3- Leupold Mark IV. Good strength, but really does not feel as solid as the first two. Will get the job done for most, but is not on the same level as Seekins or Spuhr.

Re: Baddest A** Scope Rings?

Jered has the strongest set that I know of APA. I don't know anybody else that has picked up the ass end of a Toyota 4-runner with there rings. He has a YouTube video demonstrating how badass his rings really are.

Why 3 bolt (6)?

Sphur will cost you a pretty penny and hard to argue they are not at or near to top of the food chain.

Re: Baddest A** Scope Rings?

American Rifle Company are the best rings I've ever used.....and I've used a lot of them.

The design is light, rugged and they NEVER have left rings marks on any of my scopes.

I love the design of the M10s because they use a single screw to torque the rings to the scope and because they clamshell the scope on the vertical plane, as you torque them down, they dont try to rotate the scope....so one screw, run it to 65inch pounds....done.

I've also removed the rings with the scope in place and reinstalled several times and never lose zero.

The price is right as well.

I love them so much that I've been hesitant on picking up a Vortex Razor scope because the tubes are 35mm and ARC doesn't make a set in 35mm.

I never thought it let rings affect my choice of scopes.

I have these, and they are great. Priced well, fit and finish is superb, triple lugs, etc., etc.

I'm using a couple sets at the moment. Built like tanks and solid, although I did get some marring on my 5-20SS. Base was bedded and all torque specs were followed, but they do their job and they do it well so it's not a dealbreaker.

Re: Baddest A** Scope Rings?

Who, besides Nightforce, makes a monolithic Remington700 mount/ring set? I think their lowest setup is medium, and I'm going to be mounting a 1-6 or 1-8 optic, so I'll probably need low height.

American Defense, LaRue, Bobro off the top of my head.

Re: Baddest A** Scope Rings?

Alright guys, need to mount a NF 56mm on a 7mm mag bolt gun. The bolt gun is a Browning Abolt. My question is what rings will get me closest to the barrel as possible? I have followed this thread and like the Seekins and Aadland Rings. However, I am happy to use what will get me the best results. No I am not currently using a Picatinny rail.

EDIT, This is closest I could find of the gun: http://www.browning.com/products/catalog...035&tid=012
