Badger IMUNS / AICS 2.0 Chassis - Barrel alignment

I've got a Mk13 Mod 5 that had a Remington MARS rail installed to it and I wanted to transition to a Badger Ordnance IMUNS (moving to a different scope / NV clip-on combo). Followed the instructions for the IMUNS installation and - when time to install the action/barrel - the barrel favors one side of the IMUNS to the point that its almost touching; a little too close for comfort.

I'm assuming the IMUNS or chassis is out of whack. I've played around with different torque combinations with the action fasteners on the chassis with no luck - same result. I don't want to bed the chassis as that kind of defeats the purpose of a chassis.

It seems if I shim the action it's fine, but I don't have a lot of experience with "shimmed" rifles. I've currently got some high-temp polymer shims between the action and chassis, but I'm not sure what the repercussions are for doing this? I wanted to use something that wouldn't develop a "memory" over time, per say, because the last thing I want is for the action/barrel to come loose.

Any feedback is appreciated, thanks.
