I've got a brand new M2008 action with .308 bolt face that's been in my safe for two years now. And I need another 308/260 rifle like I need a case of herpes. I just finished up building a 7mm saum and am enthralled with the short action magnums. I called Badger and they will sell me a new bolt, if/when they have them. I couldn't even order one as they said just call back in two months. I know what that means in this market……………... So could it be just as simple as removing the ejector/extractor, then indicating the bolt in my lathe and opening up the diameter? I'm on the newer side of smithing, but I have chambered a handful of rifles so far with excellent results. But this is something I have no experience with. Or if this is a very tricky operation left to the seasoned professionals, who would be willing to take such a job? Thanks in advance.
