Rifle Scopes Badger Ordinance Mount on early Remington 700

Ok, heres the question, Badger Ordinance makes a lugged scope rail for the Remington 700 Short Action, for slotted actions only, the mount is
bottomed lugged for clip slotted actions only. Off the website Part number is P/N 306-06UX and it states (Lugged Scope Rail, Remington Short Action, for Round Rear Bridge Only). Now I have asked several times before on the Hide, because of the difference in the rear bridge height on the early Remington 700's, thats everything earlier than the A series, will the mounts work. I know Badger Ordinance made a excellent copy of the Redfield M40 style mount and rings but they stated not for A series and earlier rifles, is this because of the difference in the rear height or is the there also a difference in the actual shape of the receiver.

If the rear bridge height on the early Remingtons is different than those produced after the A serie then how can a base built for newer rifles properly fit the older rifles when they are not the same.
