I have a model 700 remington .270 rifle. I bought a badger ordnance base (306-07F). Badger standard rings. With a Leupold VX3 4.5-14X50mm LR scope. When i move the scope back for proper eye relief it hits the front of the base. I really dont wanna have it sticking to high off the barrel and lose my check weld with to high of rings. I dont know if should order the next ring size up or cut the base off? Somebodys gotta have this problem before, and yes i read the whole post about ring sizing i didnt see a answer. So if you have a idea i would love to hear it. thanks

Re: Badger ordinance rings and base question

I had the same issue mounting a 1.8x10 USO 44mm OBJ on the same base. I just milled the base off and reparkerized it. I don't know if this will void any kind of warranty that Badger has. You might give them a call and see what they recommend.

I doubt there are many warranty claims with Badger. If shortening the base does not help, that is why they make adjustable cheek stocks. Or call Triad and get an Eagle stock pack.

Ok men thanks for all your insights, dont underestimate a hacksaw and file. Man it came out perfect, fit like a glove. I will apply some code blue on it and it will look fine. I did make a call to badger as always they are good to deal with he said whack it off wont hurt a thing.
