Gunsmithing Badger Ordnance DBM: WTF!!

I picked up my rifle last week from my gunsmith. It's a 300win mag, BAT action, Krieger Barrel, jewel trigger, with Badger bottom metal. Well today I decided to start looking for a spare magazine, and noticed that the magazine that came with my Badger bottom metal is stamped "AI" on the bottom. I know that Accuracy international magazines work in Badger bottom metal, but thought that it would come from Badger with a Badger magazine. Is AI now supplying Badger with all of their magazines?

ummmmm.....AI or ALPHA you have the best of the best....

It will work with AICS mags

I'm just confused as to why Badger would send me their bottom metal with a third party magazine. Does Badger not make their own magazines?

No they don't and never did.The industry standard is the AI mags.They are great and no need to make anything else.

Just for info sake, most everyone who makes bottom metal uses Accuracy International Mags. They do work great, and are easy to get for a reasonable price. Better than H&S Precision mags, and less expensive. Have no worries, they are very good quality.

I have used Alpha mags and am not here to bash them. The AI mags are standard with all good DBM's.

Because if I had a choice between the two I would take the AI over the Alpha. Nothing implied "wrong" with the Alpha but the AI has a excellent reputation. YMMV
