I've never varied from H4350 in my .260's, but a recent experiment with ball powder in .223 is making me wonder if there's a ball powder that's suitable for .260 Remington.
I've never used it but I think H414 is close to the 4350 burn rate I have a pound of it that I was going to try if I ran out of H4350, but I never needed to try
I would be interested in an all powder that is accurate in 260 Rem just because metering a charge would speed up the loading process and let me shoot more.
If I were looking for a Ball powder to run in a 260, the first one I'd grab is Ramshot Hunter. Burn rate is a tad slower than RL-19 or IMR 4831. I'd imagine 2800 with a 140 would be doable.
Hmm, lots of potential choices. I've been having great success loading pretty darn good ammo on my Dillon 650 for .223. It's so good it got me thinking about trying the 650 with the .260 ammo. I'd shoot more if I could load at 500 rounds per hour vs the current 50.
I have tried both H414 & Superperformance. They cannot match H4350 or IMR 4451 on my 6.5 Creedmoor. So I am wondering if ball powder really suits my cartridge.
