I tried searching and found nothing (my google fu is week and not really sure how to put in words what I am asking). When you are putting in your inputs and you come to the wing speed do or should you use 1mph or 10mph? I have seen both but don't know the pro's and con's. Now flame suit on and please forgive my ignorance but say you use 1mph (and Im going to use made up whole numbers because its easier) and it says at 500yrds w/ 1mil hold. You then see that you have a 15 mph full value, do you then dial in 15 mils for the hold?

Now say you have 2 winds and one is 3-9 @7mph and then further down range you have 9-3@12mph. Do you subtract the two and get 5? Anything special for that?

Sorry for my stupid questions, but one never asked is one never answered.

Re: Ballistic Calc's and wind calls

When I print out my wind columns for shooting, I use 2, 3, 5, and 8 mph columns. Most of the time, you do not get the 90 degree full value cross wind, it's a 3/4, 1/2 to 1/4 value. So, I like to be able to use the 2, 3 and 5 mph columns for this. And if I need a 10 or 15 mph (or more) wind, I double 5 or 8 mph and such. It works well for me since I don't have to do much math in my head, and can concentrate on shooting more.
