I'm looking at potentially upgrading my rangefinder/kestrel combo to a more integrated setup. Currently I have a Swarovski 8x30 rangefinder, a Kestrel 5500 with link (but no ballistic calc), and an iPhone w/ballistic AE.
Would like get something for long range hunting/shooting. I like the idea of the BR2500 providing an all in one package, but after reading some reviews it looks like its laser is probably not the best. The Terrapin X + Kestrel looks very capable but wondering how useful this is in a hunting scenario (i.e. can you get your range/firing solution fast enough).
Are there others I'm missing? I haven't really set a budget (probably something less than $3k but this is flexible). I don't think the Trijicon Ventus will be in the cards as I'm sure it will be north of $8-10k.
TIA
