Ring, try going to the main settings on your device. NOT Ballistic settings.

Then select Ballistic AE, go down to JBM Computer, select that, then Atmosphere should be an option. You should be able to select Density Altitude under Format.

Make sure you restart your device after doing these steps.

Yep, it's on your phone settings in your list of apps.
Very simple when you find it.

Re: Ballistic FTE is now Ballistic AE "now with Litz"

I'm going to have to get an Ipod, that looks like fun.

Problem is I can barely use a normal cell phone.

Re: Ballistic FTE is now Ballistic AE "now with Litz"

I don't fully understand your question, but now you simply input your firing position DA and select heads up display.

look at my screen shot for the DA input... thats not DA... i have no way to use it... thats y i use shooter...

Re: Ballistic FTE is now Ballistic AE "now with Litz"

I played with the settings and there does seem to be a bug. If you switch between the different atmosphere settings and then back to DA it doesn't always show feet, it'll show lb/ft3 even though it says DA. Switching back and forth a few times seems to have fixed it though, now it says DA and the units are in ft.

i can clear the lb/ft3 and the mach... but if i enter the DA info to those fields, like 3000ft @ 80f it will error out and wont work..

unlike shooter

in shooter?... turn DA on.. in FTE/AE, the "mach" number is "supposed" to auto convert temp to fps, it "will" do this when you build a favorite, that i tested, but wont work under the HUD..

but honestly, FTE/AE is just dumb for labeling it that way from the start, let alone showing you the conversion.. every other DA setting on the planet is listed as FT/TEMP the what FTE?AE has listed..

Re: Ballistic FTE is now Ballistic AE "now with Litz"

I am having the same problem I cannot get my DA to read in just feet. I have tried toggling between types an reset the phone each type and no luck. Also have any of you guys used thaw Casio pathfinder watch to get your atmospherics? How accurate are they in regaurds to the Ballistic AE? Because i dont have keasrel yet but have been hesitant on the accuracy of the pathfinder in reguards to input data for this app.

Re: Ballistic FTE is now Ballistic AE "now with Litz"

anyone know how to set zero offsets in AE?... i assume it was the "Y offset" in zero, but that seems to give me odd data if i set it...

load A is my ZERO load..
load B is 1.25" high of that load and .75" right

this is easy in shooter, but have issues in AE....

BTW, new update for IOS6 has new features...

Shooter now shows numeric BC values.

In fact, all ballistic app developers now have permission to show these values. The intent of asking them to hide the values in the first place was to promote and establish my book as the source of the information. Now that the intent has been achieved, I've allowed the information to be shared in the apps, free of charge.
My request to hide the values was not legally enforceable by copyright law, yet each of the developers complied with this request which reflects positively on the integrity of most people in the shooting industry. So now that the intent has been achieved, I'm happy to allow the numbers to be shown in all ballistic apps.
I'll do my best to keep the list updated and available to the various app developers so the 'Litz' BC library can continue to support the best trajectory predictions possible.
Take care,
-Bryan

Re: Ballistic FTE is now Ballistic AE "now with Litz"

Here is the complete change log from 3.2 (which is the latest in the app store)

3.4.0
- Renamed Y-Intercept to "Zero Height"; Y offset to zero
- Added "Zero Offset" field; X offset to zero. NOTE: Using this will zero your windage, so if you're calculating wind or spin drift, this will also be zeroed.
- Minor cosmetic tweaks
- Fixed a bug in handling of Density Altitude atmosphere data in the HUD; the HUD had mislabeled the density field as lb/ft3, instead of in ft/m, and the mach field failed to convert temperature input into mach values.

- Added Velocity Correction / Truing of data. Tap on the muzzle velocity field in either the trajectory screen or the HUD, and enter up to five true points of impact and their ranges. By default, values are relative to your original calculation, so if the actual point of impact was 6 inches low, enter -6 for a drop and the distance. If the impact was 6 inches high, enter 6 for a drop. You may switch off relative offsets, and enter exact drop values for your trajectory (e.g. -293 in @ 1000 yards). Ballistic will calculate the closest muzzle velocity matching your data, allowing you to correct for muzzle velocity changes due to powder temperature, fouling, and other factors.

3.3.0
- Minor cosmetic tweaks to the Advanced Wind Kit
- Minor cosmetic tweaks to the tab bar icons
- Added titles to the multi-value selection pages
- Added title to the about pages
- New application icon

- Revised the advanced wind kit. Added pinch capabilities to wind bands to designate their coverage for each band. Also added a new switch to designate a wind band as having a constant velocity across the entire band, or linear (decayed) wind speed across the band's coverage area. Also added a yellow tint to wind sources indicating an upwind; the upwind velocity and constant/linear designation is also now shown in the description.

Thanks Brian! We appreciate your approach and dedication to our sport.

Re: Ballistic FTE is now Ballistic AE "now with Litz"

Please add a direct link to http://ballistic.zdziarski.com/
for information

Or have an information page with manual and setting explanation included.
If we do not have to connect to the internet to get the info it is even better, sometimes there is no coverage where we shoot.
Thanks

Re: Ballistic FTE is now Ballistic AE "now with Litz"

I have the latest version of Ballistic AE on my Verizon iphone and can't get to the truing function.

I looked in the settings app (nothing jumps out at me), tried tapping the velocity fields in the HUD and trajectory pages as has been mentioned, nothing still! Resorted to deleting the app and reinstalling it...NO JOY! What gives?

Also, my "Range Log" icon at the bottom is pointing straight up...previously he was aiming to the right but after the upgrade he seems to be a bit confused.

It's a small thing but looks odd rotated straight up.

Thanks for straightening me out.
