got a trg 42 i cal 338 lapua, and im thinking about cutting the barrel down in length... what will you recoment

Depends on how far you want to shoot.

the longest we can shoot in denmark is 1300 meters... if it is to be legal that is

so 1300 max is it

You could probably go down to 20 inches and still be fine at 1300 meters.

I run a 26" .338 barrel in my SRS and don't think I'll ever shorten the barrel. I just like having the ability to reach out further when I have the opportunity.

I like the longer barrell because you an get more velocity, even at shorter distances.
