I am shooting a .308 Remington 700P. It's in a B&C Medalist Tactical stock with a Jewel trigger, and Wyatt DBM. Bone stock original beyond that. It has 1849 rounds fired. Mostly hand loads with some BH Match. Sunday I was at the range shooting steel. Turned into a 7 hour marathon session and I shot 189 rounds. At the end of the session I shot a 1 MOA, 3 shot group at 1000 yards. Luckily for me there was virtually no wind. When I went to clean it tonight it was a dream to clean. 20 patches and it was clean with almost no fouling. I clean it thoroughly after every range session with Pro-Shot Products. I know a lot of guys don't clean after each session.

Was it easier to clean because I have hit some sweet spot in barrel life?

What can I do to keep it shooting this well for as long as possible?

Unfortunately there is no simple answer to your questions.
My 308(Painless) only gets cleaned when MOA at 1k falls off. Typically that is a 2-3 shoot, so typically around the 500 round mark. Barrels are a consumable, at some point soon my barrel will drop to the point of needing replaced; all my loads will need reworked, just the nature of the beast.
This barrel is sitting around the 3k mark. Is it "normal"? Don't know, just is.

Stop cleaning after every range session. You are wasting time, cleaning products, and doing more damage to the barrel than you are benefiting from. When it needs to be cleaned, you'll know.
