Need help on choosing correct base and rings to attach vortex hs 4x16x50 30mm tube to Bergara hmr pro creedmoor. I understand the Bergara to take the Remington 700 family of bases. I would like a one piece rail. Thanks for any help.

Most low rings will work with a rail. The rail depends on how far you’re going to shoot that rifle I guess so even with a 20 moa rail you’ll be fine.
MDT do a nice rail, EGW also and then rings are your your preference for weight/size/look.

If you don’t need a rail then Talley lightweights low may work. But I’ll assume you need medium due to the barrel being a touch thicker than sporter.
If you do some googlefu and YouTubing you’ll find a combo that works for you (y)
I had Talley lightweights on my tikka with a Nightforce nxs with 50mm objective and it cleared nicely.

I'm in the same position , just got a Bergera Ridgeback, I think the nicest rail is a Murphy Precision made of stainless steel and coated black. As for rings I like Leupold Mark 4 or a less expensive but very good in my opinion is Burris XTR Rings.

Keep in mind the Bergera rifles use 8-40 base screws, NOT the usual 6-48

Leupold Mk4 20moa base comes with 8-40 screws

Since you are limited to 500 yards I dont think you would require a 20moa base, long range is 600 yards and further, maybe someone else can confirm that.

Do you have a scope picked yet ? Im doing my research now and have a couple of threads going asking questions, I cant afford a $2500 scope my budget is around $1000, so far im liking the Vortex PST Gen II 5-25x50

He’s mounting a Vortex Hs 4-16x50 as he said in op.

You should be able to find an Ares ETR for 1k..... that would be a good combo.

If you’re not shooting past 500, I would grab some Talley Rings. They’re light, inexpensive and great quality

In owning many gen 1 Vortex Viper scopes; I find that when using a 20moa rail, you'll actually be closer to the zero marks on the elevation turret housing. Your results may be different, but it has worked that way with 3 of mine

I run a one piece DNZ base and rings on all my hunting Tikka's with zero issues.

If you're set on going with a rail and rings, EGW for the rail and Seekins or Vortex (they're Seekins lol) rings have worked well for me.

I have a one piece MPA mount I won at a Guardian match. I love it. The cross bolts are large. The scope screws are big. The mount is solid. I took it off the gun recently and bolted it back on. Zero changed 2/10 right. I took two shots, dialed 2/10 left and was good to go. Elevation was dead nuts.

Bang

The Leupold mark 4 base says it ships with the #8-40 screws that I need for the Bergara. Will the other choices like DNZ,EGW and Seekins come with the proper screws? And thanks again for the great suggestions.

Not a Pro but I mounted my Midas Tac 6-24x50 on my HMR with a 20 MOA Seekins rail and Vortex PMR 0.87 rings (which are in fact Seekins rings). Came out perfect and shoots great.

I have had about 12-15 Bergaras at this point and my favorite base for their guns that are not in chassis is the Nightforce Direct Mount. Its 20MOA and you don't need a base at all. Mounts directly to the action. Saves weight, eliminates possible tolerance stack issue and works like a charm. Not sure if they make one for 8x40 screws or its setup to accept them though. I ran these on the HMR which is not 8x40. If you go with a standard base and mount, I like the 1.375 high if not running NV with a 50 tube and 1.5 if you are going to run NV. Ive used ARC which are awesome, ZR0/Alamo and NF which are better than advertised IMO.

I've got a warne 20 moa rail and the vortex pro rings. I think I used the mediums and they worked pretty well. I have the hmr and a 50mm objective from vortex as well (PST genII 5-25x50.) I think lows would probably work fine too.

I've got a Bergara B14 with a Vortex Viper P5T gen 2 5-25/50 . The Tally medium rings have plenty of clearance, even with the scope caps. They are inexpensive and work well. Can't help you with a rail and rings though. When you decide what you want and see it works, post back here. I'm thinking of a rail and rings for a Razor with a 56 mm bell.
