Earth gets invaded by aliens (at least they dont look like the standard Sigourney Weaver scorpions). Looks like we're gonna buy the farm but then they reactivate the Battleship Missouri and fuck up some aliens. Oh rah.

Total make believe but fun and it will make you proud of humanity. Wait, did I really say that? ;)

It is an awesome action packed shoot em up that had the US Navy's direct participation in a lot of the production process and had a VERY teary-eye moment when you realized that the crew of the Missouri engaging the alien mech are REAL veterans of the battleship from a 2 decade span, and the Army soldier with prosthetic legs who fought and defeated the alien on the mountaintop comms beacon is a real Army Infantry combat veteran who had lost his legs on the front line in Iraq. After his recovery he had found a new career in big production movie and TV and starred elsewhere as well. Battleship is a cult favorite now with a fan base of MILLIONS on the Internet.

Yep, got dusty for a moment. The old boys were a definite plus.
