Been using an old video camera and monitor for years when using a balance beam scale.

Not so much anymore as have gone to digital

Silly me. Here I was using a <span style="text-decoration: underline">real</span> hand lens.

Goodness, what contortions people go through to make it easier to read a beam scale; just place it up on a shelf so it's near eye level, it will be quite easy to see and no TV or magnifier will be needed. A suitable shelf or box is easy to make and won't cost very much.

Great ideas... It is always good to get a close up view of your scale to know what is really true.

Both methods (web cam and magnifying glass) are good and the mag glass is probly a little cheaper, but the set up with the auto trickler is a good idea too...
