I tried it on my SPS Tactical when I first got it. I knew I would eventually trade out stocks later. I like the feel of it but it is just to flimsy to do any good with. I now have a B&C stock on it.

I had a buddy that built a 6mm Ackley as with premium barrel off a trued Mod. 70 action. He used the stock you speak of because he liked the shape & feel of it for a hunting rifle. Like you said the flimsy forend caused problems.
The solution was to bed the rifle at a higher elevation. In simple terms bed the action to the stock with it sitting a good bit higher in the stock than it was originally.
It worked well and shot fine from a bipod & off hand. However if you were to sling up and shoot prone at a NRA highpower match or something, you could maybe flex the forend enough to get barrel contact perhaps.

RDL how do you like the B&C? I like teh light tactical...that's my choice if I end up getting something different...

I am really pleased with the B&C stock. I bought it used here on the Hide. I have not done anything to it as far as bedding.
And here is some groups I shot with the rifle last week. The groups were all 5 shots from 200yds with wind gusting 10-15 mph. The wide right shot in the circled group was before I made wind adjustment. I was testing 70gr Bergers seated at different lenghths.
