Bedding a Ruger 77/22????

Is there anything I need to know about bedding the 77/22?

Had mine done, smith did the reciver and about the first two inches of the barrel.

I would advise against it.... I have done two, a .22lr and a 17 hmr and saw absolutely no improvement at all. Both of these rifles were already sub MOA shooters. If you are having legitimate accuracy problems, I would suggest tackling other issues and resort to bedding last. Try ammo selection, inspect the barrel / crown / chamber / headspace / bore, check your optics, make sure the rifle is torqued properly in the stock....

Been down that road....

I had the same results as SOCAL. It shot great before the bedding. Didnt do any noticible good.

I have 77/22VBZ that shoots sub-moa with various brands...it ain't broke and I ain't fixin' it.
