Bedding a mcmillan with marine-tex, milled everything out and went to drill out the epoxy in the pillars and both of them chipped around the top of the pillar. What can I do to prevent this? Also you can see in the picture what looks like a bunch of little bubbles in the hardened glass? I have never seen this before, what causes this? Everything about this bed job was less than ideal, I'm going to redo it once I figure out what went wrong.

Thanks

the chipping around the pillars was caused because the epoxy is very thin there. that and the little bubbles are purely cosmetic . when you mix the epoxy try not to capture air or whip air into the mix. I like to paint my receiver with epoxy and put epoxy in the stock and then put them together to try and eliminate any voids . did you put the pillars in or order the stock with pillars? personally I would shoot the rifle as is.
