I have a searched for this and can't seem to find it, so here it is. I have a choate tactical on my savage .308 and am planning on finally finishing all the paint and what not. It has a bedding job from when I bought it used but its not bedded to this action. I was planning on re-bedding it, but I am kind of thinking of just milling out the old bedding and leaving it sitting as it is in the V-block. Do you guys see any problems with this??? Thank you guys very much!

Re: Bedding question on a choate stock?

I only bedded around the recoil lug on my Choate/Savage tactical. The cut for the lug was maybe 1/2" thicker than the lug and about 1/8" wider. After that just torqued the action screws.
Didn't see any accuracy difference after bedding the lug however. The bedding block locks it into the stock pretty well by itself.
