Gunsmithing Bedding Scope base?

Re: Bedding Scope base?

I dont know if the cant is built into the base or the rail. Mine isn't a 20moa base anyway.

Re: Bedding Scope base?

The slope that is in a 20 moa base is machined into the base its self. bedding a base just takes up the few thousands difference between both sides of the bolt opening where the base attaches to the receiver.

Re: Bedding Scope base?

plus you dont bed it as thick as a bedding job. just enough to make 100% contact between the two while its tightened. not like the action where you lay it in there and let it harden. i waxed my receiver holes fully closed. i waxed the screws. i waxed the base and the top of the receiver. i applied the JBweld to the base and set it down and then tightened the front and rear screw. i cleaned the other two with qtips and put them in and took the others out and cleaned those holes. that was weeks ago. i just took them out again and torqued them to 15 inch pounds. they all came out clean.
