Think about getting one of these for the AAC-SD. How is the grip as far as vertical? Can't really tell by the pics. I know McM and manners are better but I'm going a different direction with this. Anyone with one any info. would be great.

Re: Bell and Carlson light tactical

Its not vertical, but it is steeper than factory, maybe this pic is better.

I vastly prefer it, also much fuller in the hand.

Thanks, its just Krylon and/or Rustoleum nothing special. Craft store netting, few leaves from the yard, and maybe an hour's time.

What a great paint job for 1 hours worth of time. Paul.

Re: Bell and Carlson light tactical

I have one on my 243 ackley. I had originally used the bell and Carlson m40 style that looks kinda like the htg, but found the grip a little too small for my hand. I replaced it with the light tactical and it's much better in my opinion. The grip is about a half inch longer and fits my hand better. The forend is similar to an a3 McMillan in size and shape. I added a karsten cheek piece to raise the comb and it's good to go. You can find them on stockysstocks.com or shootersdiscount.com for around 220 bucks. Might need to dust off the dremel if you use a Jewell trigger, but a timney, shilen, or factory trigger should drop right in. On a side note, the plain painted version or the web pattern version have some texture to them. The other speciality paint jobs that are available are finished without any texture and are a bit slippery.
HTH,
Matt
