I am looking for a Beretta 92fs Inox and have been seeing some pretty substantial color variations in the stainless steel. On the Italian models the upper and lower appear to be a completely different "color." On the American made models the stainless seem lighter than it does on the Italian made guns and the uppers and lowers tend to match in "color." Some of this phenomenon could be the picture taking skills of the people posting the pictures, but I have noticed this trend over dozens of different guns posted by different people. Does anyone have an Italian made 92fs Inox that can vouch for the color of the stainless on the upper vs. the lower?

A picture of the American made 92fs Inox and the Italian made 92fs Inox.......the color variation is staggering.

It's much more like the right picture in person, the pictures on the left has had some work. The slide is Stainless while the frame is clear anodized aluminum.
No major difference American vs. Italian.

I remember the Italian Inox's used to be a lighter, shinier color/finish. These days they seem more matte, duller. Never recall seeing different slide to frame color at all. The one's I've seen always matched.

FWIW, I prefer the Italian made; better parts material quality & better fit/finish. Similar to the German Sigs over the US Sigs, Austrian Glocks over the US Glocks, HK either way. Definitely like the 92FS over the M9. Just keep looking. Call around to some LGS's, describe what you're looking for, then look in person. That would be my suggestion. Pictures never are exact, my Gunbroker purchases have proven that....
