I'd take a stock 700 with a quality aftermarket barrel on it over a Bergara any day of the week. If you're going to make any mods, thread the handle and pinned lugs are nice for future barrel replacements, especially if you end up with a bedded stock.
Belle and Carlson makes decent stuff for the price. I think they may have started offering M5 pattern trigger guard inlets for DBM's also.
Thats what i was thinking, just wished my 700 action was alittle more refined and polished. I was looking into custom actions but its just too much for me. Figured if i get a remage barrel and a bell and carlson style4 m40 stock id have a pretty nice setup. Plus i can always sell the stock barrel. I junked the factory stock trying to make it into something its not. I am just curious as to what accuracy consistency difference i could expect from a custom 700 vs the bergara b14 hmr? Heck maybe it would be much different between the two. I never bought a custom barrel before so i am just going by speculation.
Honestly, I've seen most actions get gummed up from Teflon type coatings on the inside.Quick question, where can i get my action microslicked?
I haven’t heard of the microslick gumming up in an action, I know it’s not impervious to scratches/flake if you do the air cure version but the baked version is damn tough to the point it’s used in many other industries to coat parts that need dry film lubricity.Honestly, I've seen most actions get gummed up from Teflon type coatings on the inside.
