anyone running the berger 175 Grain Match Target BT with RL-17 in their 308? How's that working out for you? Got 600 of the Bergers to play with but I don't want to eat into my RL-15 as I purchased just enough of the same lot to run with my 178 A-max go-to load. Powdervalley has RL-17 in stock but no RL-15. I'm running Lapua cases with 210Ms @ 2.80" COAL for load info with that bullet.

So how About it? anyone running that combo or similar with good results? Don't want to short change the bullets potential with a bad powder choice.

all I can give ya is this.the Alliant book shows a 48.7gn compressed load for a 180gn bullet with R17.most are useing a 208-210gn bullet with that powder.hope this helps.

Re: Berger 175MTBT RL-17 in 308

I am using the 185's with the RL-17. As I don't have a chronograph I cant give a velocity but I am shooting 44.5 grains and at 1000 yards have 35-38 moa dialed in out of a 28" 5R barrel depending on the day etc..etc... As for the 175's I think its a little slow for that light a bullet. I think the 185s are on the low side for it and should be a starting weight but I am no expert by any means.
