Background on the setup, its a Sig 716, and lately ive been doing a lot of 700-800 meter shooting and using a CMR 1-4x. Problem is the elevation is maxed out at 750 meters so im having to use the reticle for anything beyond that, and I cant see 1,000 meters with the 1-4, so I thought maybe a 1-6 or 1-8 if they exist would fix the issue. I have a couple bolt action guns I use with "real" scopes on them, and this is more of my close quarters gun that I just seem to have a blast with at a distance because its so easy to shoot, the low magnification allows me to literally watch the target to see if it hits (spotter verified of course) and with Hornady 168 Amax its just effortless fun.

The only 1-6x I was able to find was the Leupold for $2,000, and their 1-8x is actually a 1.25 where I prefer a true 1x so I can use the illuminated reticle with both eyes open like a red dot. Anyone else know of a scope that would satisfy what im looking for? I have offset Irons already, and figure worst comes to worse I can toss an offset micro red dot and do a 3-10x, but the purpose of this gun was close quarters or medium range targets, I just thought it would be fun to be able to do 1,000 meters with the same scope.

One to consider would be the Kahles K16i. True 1-6, brightest illumination available, built in Magnification Cat tail, and a 134 FOV. Good amount of following in the 3-Gun community as well. This comes with four reticles, three in MIL and one MOA. Either of them have enough hold to get you out beyond 600 Yards.

Several hide vendors carry them as well.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Ken

I have been looking at some of the 1-?x scopes as well.

Look at USO for a couple of nice 1-8x configurations.
March has a nice SFP 1-10 and a FFP 1-8.
Vortex Razor has a 1-6
Bushnell Elite Tactical 1-6.5x
Schmidt and Bender (is this out yet?) 1-8x

Many to choose from.

Looks gorgeous, but besides being about $2800, I was really hoping to have exposed turrets and a zero stop. Im so used to it now that it would be hard to go back to no zero stop, and I change my range frequently on the desert trips where id like to see the turrets at all times.

I guess im gonna have to go over to one of the higher end shops and peak at a few. That SWFA looks AWESOME but I just realized its not actually out yet... but their tax day sale will have a $200 off coupon. I may just have to wait, or buy a SS fixed 10x on a QD to have fun with until then. On the SWFA site, it shows one of the models with exposed turrets and doesnt seem like the others do.
