Would it be crazy to save up and just get a 5.56 can, that way you have the best of both worlds? Only one tax stamp to worry about, multiple platforms.. Or would it not be as serviceable/quiet as a can specifically developed for the .22? I would think buy once cry once and get a 556 can that can withstand heavier pressures than a sparrow or others mentioned, but then again "buy once cry once" is easier said than done. I guess my point would be, why not look at 556 cans instead of limiting yourself to the rimfire variety?</div></div>
this depends on a couple of things...
first and mainly, are you worried about weight on the 22 platform..
after that, it gets fairly easy, when I have customers that have a 22 rifle and an 223, I try to steer them to a 223/556 can that disassembles... generally the Tactical Innovations Tac16, not light, but it gives them way more flexibility than a 22 can...
but, that only works if they're not concerned w/ weight, if they will ever use it on a 22 pistol, the option is gone
