The Hornady Nightguard isn't a bad option, fast access when you need it, but sturdy and tamper resistant enough to keep kids out (no bedside gun safe will keep a truly determined attacker out)
Also looks like a chunky clock, so unless someone knows what it is, they're not likely to think much of it.
