Best Bubble Level

Re: Best Bubble Level

We have three types, and all work well, the Hollands we dont really like they mount to the scope, We do like the B Square and the Sinclare, both of those can been seen with our left eye when we are setting things up, the ones that attach to the scope and are centered above it are very hard to see unless you get out of your shooting position...
We long range hunt, and use our leavels all the time just before the shot, to make sure we are leavel....

Re: Best Bubble Level

i should have specified for 34 mm. so the ones that mount to the side off the rail might be best???? are they secure and stable? thanks

ok so now i see the holland ring mount or the bsquare and us optics rail mounts. is one preferred over the other in terms of mounting or durability? thanks

Re: Best Bubble Level

We have several types but I think that the B Square is the most durable, keep in mind that they are sticking out and you could drop the rifle or fall on them but they work great for us.... My two sons really like the Sinclare that mounts to the scope and you can look at it with your left eye also when getting ready to shoot to make sure the gun is level, two years ago I shot my buck with my sons 300 ultra mag at 575 yards with his and he has a sinclare, and it was the last thing that I looked at just before I pulled the trigger, you have to make sure the gun is level on long shots....
Any way I am using the B Square on three of my guns...

Re: Best Bubble Level

I have a USO swing level and its great in theory... not in practice. I prefer the scope mounted offset levels like vortex makes.

Konus has them, also if you google anti cant bubble, you will find an aftermarket one that is a dim led light two red, two amber and one green in the middle to let you know you are level.

I myself have the U.S. Optic swing out and love it.

Re: Best Bubble Level

I use vortex anti-cant device. It mounts to scope and is available for 30mm and 35mm tubes. I like it since the bubble tube is off-set to the side a little, as enough so that I can get my sights set with my right eye, open my left eye to correct cant and then close it and fire with right.

Re: Best Bubble Level

I have been using the folding rail mounted ones from USO, but I just ordered one of the Flatline Ops scope mounted one that should be here in a day or so. I will put up a review when I get it and use it for a while.

The old Springfield Armory Scopes have the bubble in there.

Looks good.

Re: Best Bubble Level

Took my rifle out for sight in yesterday. First trip out with the vortex bubble level. Worked great. Easy to see without lifting your head off the cheek weld.

No shit- great idea.
It could be done electronically with a sensor- and have just three dots. One for left, one for right, and a green one in the center that sez "SEND IT!"...

I got to looking around. Someone's already come up with the idea (figures... ).

Anyway- this looks REALLY interesting. And not much more expensive than a bubble level.

Anyone familiar with this device? I just might have to be a beta-tester...

nice idea but looks too big.....totally blocks the view of the turret and I think then blinking lights would get distracting and annoying.......especially in low light.

Re: Best Bubble Level

+1 on the Holland Level. It is easy to see without coming off your cheekweld. I have on my Premier and it is easily visible even with the huge turrets!

+2 - I ordered the Holland after seeing this thread. They had it in my hands in three days. Really nice accessory. Well made and finished. I'd buy it again.

Re: Best Bubble Level

I have a U.S. Optics have been using it for over 18 months and have no problems but I am waiting to lose the cap for it
I have a tendency to forget to screw it on.

That's why they have the threads on the other side too....

I prefer the USO fixed levels.

AXE-is "Gee David" gonna make 34&35mm that you've seen?

Re: Best Bubble Level

I run one currently (thanks AXE), but I am not crazy about it. It has one line you split the bubble with, instead of centering the bubble between lines-slower and more cognition required. I use it primarily for the cosine when needed.

They are plastic, but I ran it over with an SUV, and the mount was fixable. If it weren't in a soft rifle case at the time, the outcome may have been different...
