Ok finally traded my bar for a long range rig. I got a Remington R5 308 in a mcmillan A-5 adj stock bipod and a older ok ior scope. I looking to add a DM system to it was looking for advice. I'm not rich by any means but i'm a firm beliver in buying the best first. I would really like something I could install myself with little hassle. Well thanks for any help. I hope to add more info to this site then me surfing and reading and I guess trolling :) thanks respectfully Dave

I just ordered one of those myself. The push button mag release is what made me go with the seekins. I was just about to get the original version, but the AICS version popped up just in time!

The Surgeon seems pretty sweet to though..

Re: Best DM system?

As with anything else that is totally subjective, my advice is to attempt to find members with the aforementioned DBMs and try them out. They all do there job well and are quality products. You need to figure out the correct one for you.

Re: Best DM system?

As with most things in this game "best" is a relative term. If you are looking for a DBM setup that is essentially a "drop in" to the standard BDL inlet you're going to have to look at the Wyatt's or HS Precision offerings. There are better systems on the market that are more robust and use a better, non-proprietary magazine but they will require the stock to be re-inletted so that it will fit and feed properly.

Here are some good systems to check out and truthfully I don't think one is any better than the other so here it goes...

Badger Ordnance M5
APA DBM
Surgeon
Hooper Ordnance
CDI Precision Gunworks
Seekins Precision
and probably a bunch of others that I'm forgetting.

I would say the biggest thing to look for is are the systems AI mag compatible and how soon can you get one?

Re: Best DM system?

Have a guy locally sellin a badger with 5rd mag for 300 no major ware. Good deal? Is it easy to install with like dremal? Or have a smith install? Would be going into above mentioned stock. Thanks

Re: Best DM system?

Any of the above DM system are top notch. I own a Hooper, and it works great. Feeding without question and mags drop free. I inletted it myself, but I would never do it again. Pay the money to have a pro do it with a mill. A dremal will work, but it's a hack job at best.
To the OP, don't buy a DM system that does not use AICS mags. They are expensive but they work all the time. Well worth the price.
