I want a simple, rugged PDA with long battery life to run my loadbase and ATRAG software while in the field. I know I can spend 2K to get one that is ruggadized, but I would like to keep it under $300 and super tough.

dont expect long battery life for under 300 clams. Tha Nomad is what you need but costs $800 2nd hand

do you need rugged? I think the other models are running pretty good out there. I dont think you'll have much issues with the standard PDA. They are way cheaper.
