I've always wanted to get a push blade - for those not familiar - such as Tom Berenger had in the movie "Platoon"....

So who's got one and what do you recommend?

No fan of cold steel products but the 92fpb cold steel fgx nightshade push blade looks to be the one I want...

Re: Best "Push" blade?

I have honestly never heard of the karambit until you posted that - I just read the history on it. Quite fascinating.

I may have to check that out, as for training with one that is...

Re: Best "Push" blade?

The knife Tom Berenger had in Platoon WAS a Cold Steel. It was the old Defender I model. Here's a link. Go to the bottom of the page.

I have a Cold Steel Safe Maker II & it's the best push knife I've ever seen. They have a larger model called the Sake Maker I as well. Don't be fooled by hype... Cold Steel makes good knives (the Japanese models anyway).

Trust me, I know my sh*t when it comes to knives!
