Okay guys I recently splurged and bought a new 22-250 after beating the streets trying to find a rem 700 VS with the carbon barrel and no luck at all I bought a savage 12FCV 22-250. I have shot them before and for the price I couldn't pass it up.
I plan on using EGW base but havent decided on rings as of yet as I don't know what scope I may use.
I have been a big Nikon guy for a while and have a brand new in the box Nikon Monarch 6-24x50 8426. My problem is I would really like something with a illuminated reticle. This is the only reason I have been considering something new.
My budget depends on what I can unload the nikon for. (this is not a for sale thread!)
Looking around the net 500ish is a good price from what I can see. so an extra 250 to 300ish is what I can spend right now.
So max budget of 800 and something better than the Nikon Monarch 8426.
I looked at the vortex PST and they look nice.
