Best shotgun BBL length for hunting fowl?

Thinking about buying a Benelli Supernova 12ga online...
Shotgun has a 28inch BBL, is that excessively long or about right? Ive never hunted turkey, rabbits, quail, etc. Do I really need a 28in BBL?

I prefer a 26" on my autos and 28" on my over/unders. Its really just personal preference, I feel like I can swing better with those lengths and they seem handier to me than longer tubes. Some of it will depend on how you hunt, ie I duck hunt a lot out of blinds, pits and boat blinds and I like a little shorter barrels. If you go shorter than 26", you will piss off your hunting buddies because of the blast and increased noise.

you will be fine with a 28"

28" is a good choice. I've had 26 and 30 but the 28" is the most versitile for a majority of uses from field to blind.
