I have 2 Sig 3000 bolt guns & wanted 2 for my sons so I bought one on GB NIB. Then I found a dealer with 2 consecutive serial numbers & bought them. So I have a friend that's been wanting one so I told him $1250 & he pick it up at my dealer. He decided to wait & boy am I so glad he did. I picked it up last night & was showing the old gent ffl how the barrels change & pulled out the factory test target & we both nearly fell over. 5 shot 1/4" at 110 yards. Basiclly 1 hole with 2 tiny ears.It looks just like a tiny mickey mouse head & looks like 3 shots but I know they shoot 5 shots as you can see 5 in my other 2 test targets which are both sub 1/2". I have to find a way to post a picture but I'm using a tablet with no sd slot.I'm naming this rifle mickey. This is cold bore shooting a barrel not broken in using Norma ammo. What will it do when broken in with better ammo? The consecutive number pair will be here soon & I hope they shoot as well.

I am tagging incase pics show up of this target. I once saw a test target of an FN SPR at .19 but that was 3 shots. I would be giggling like a little kid with the new Xbox.

I broke my laptop & using a stupid tablet but I will post pics. I like the stock, it has a good feel for me & the cheekpiece adjusts to 7 positions by sqweezing it & is rock solid while shooting. No knobs to mess with. You stiill need a tool to adjust the length of pull by adding or removing spacers. I have not taken off the flash hider but it's just lock tighted on with a setscrew also I think. I bought this one for one of my sons but I think it needs much more further testing, many years worth!

The performance of the SSG 3k as you describe is not really uncommon, with fitting loads and a good shooter.
Ii have no experience wiith the new US version though.
The 200 STR and SSG 3000 (same weapon) is normally capable of 0.5 moa on a regular basis, and i've seen them shoot 1/4 several times with a good shooter and ammo.
My experience is 99% with the 200 STR rifles but they're identical except for the stock, and a plain barrel without a muzzle break, also they're sold with 2 optional trigger options for pullweights.
Being sold in millions and being the most popular modern rifle in scandinavia, they're really a proven product.
Price wise they cost the same as a Rem 700 P there and the quality is above and beyond, add a user friendly barrel change system and great aftermarket support and it's a no brainer for people there.

The new plastic stock looks cheap and of so so quality, and the original McM will surely be better.

The only downside these rifles have for you really is a big one.
And that's simply the SIG does'nt offer aftermarket support and parts for the US market like in Europe.

As for ammo Norma is one of the better manufacturer's available, it's most likely been test fired with they're Diamond line as that's what most of the 200's are fed normally.
Lapua might make better ammo, i have found no other brands that are better so far.
Although i shoot handloads 99% of the time these days.
