Best solvent removing moly from barrel

Re: Best solvent removing moly from barrel

I'll say up front I've never used moly and dont intend to. Its biggest drawback is how hard it is to remove after you are no longer a fan. IMO you should give it to a moly loving friend and buy yourself cheap range fodder.

Unfortunately, it is already loaded for a .308 I no longer have.

If there are any Moly fans in Bham, I will gladly trade. I just don't personally know a lot of the shooters in the area.

Kroil....I used a couple saturations and let it soak then brush it. As long as you don't let it build up'you are good. If you get the doughnut after the chamber I never found anything to get it out. I would pull them and toss them if it were me or coat the bore first with liquid moly on a patch to prevent layering. That's my experience with it.

Anyone checked out the Kroil MSDS?

Scary... </div></div>

That is why I use Ed's Red that and price, they say it works as well or better then Kroil. I have never used the Kroil but the MSDS has High carcinogens in it. Not to say you want to take a bathe in ER's but I would rather have it on me then Kroil
