I have a custom 1964 Remington 700 in .308 that I am wanting to shoot long range. I am in the market for a 20moa scope base. I have an idea of an egw or badger base. What are your experiences with the base you have now and which one would recommend for the money. Would I also need to prep/mill out any part of my action for it to fit. It is also a six-digit receiver if that makes a difference? Thanks!

I have a few custom rifles and I recommend the EGW base. You can't beat them for the money. I know that badger makes great products and some on the forum might roast me for recommending the EGW, but I really can't see the difference between the two. A base is a base and rings are rings. I also recommend the Burris 3 screw tactical ribngs for around $50. I have never had these products fail and all my rifles shoot sub 1/4 MOA groups.

I like nice stuff. but if I'm going to spend 200K for a Ferarri vs. 20K for a ford at least I can see the diffenrance.

Either one should screw one just fine.
