Will someone tell me how a smaller the second number in a twist ratio is faster? In a 1.7 twist the bullet turns one turn in seven inchs. A 1.12 is one turn in 12" how would the 1.12 be slower? Can't get this straight in my dumb ass head.
Fo real? Because 7 is less than 12 so a 7 twist barrel makes a full revolution FASTER in 7 inches than barrel that makes a full revolution in 12 inches...
If you were under the impression it had to do with FPS, it does not.
Projectile does 1 twist in 7 inches. Projectile does 1 twist in 12 inches.
edit: didn't even think of the point made above - faster or slower refers to the twist itself. Faster twist (1:7") means the projectile will be spinning faster when it exits the barrel, than in a slower twist barrel (1:12").
