I'm at the stage in my build to pick up a quality bi-pod and was looking to get some opinions. Currently I have a knock off Harris and it seems to get the job done. I've been looking at the Atlas and was curious if it would be a better fit for me versus a Harris. Right now most of my shooting has been done from a bench, although it will be transitioning into prone with the new range that I'll be shooting at. I don't currently participate in any sort of comps but it won't be out of the question in the future. It will be going on a Manner's stock once I get that in and I plan on mounting it with a rail. Any advice will be helpful, I just don't want to put the money down on a Harris only to spend more on an Atlas.
If the Atlas ends up being my choice should I get the quick release or just the standard clamp on? If I were to get the standard clamp on and wanted the quick release down the road is it possible to just get the release portion?
