Hunting & Fishing Big Bucks of 2009

Thought I would share a couple of pictures.

Possibly #7 in KS typical. Shooting/Hunting buddy of mine shot with bow.

Most likely #1 in KS for non typical bow. Southwest KS.

Possibly new #1 in Nebraska for non typical, not sure if it was bow or rifle. Shot is SE Neb on my home turf. Kid is said to be from Lexington Neb, correction Lexington TX.

Will post a few more later on. Should have a 200" Whitetail taken near OK boarder in SW KS. Will post pics when I get info on it. Really nice bucks popping up here and there this year. The deer population is really down in SW KS from 10yrs ago, but the big ones are still being put down.

I try and feed all the big ones with at least 115gr pills, sometimes they get a good 225gr dose.

I don't think that second one is a deer. It looks more like half horse/half moose. Man we don't get anything like that around here in PA

That is absolutely crazy deer. If I saw a deer like that coming at me...first I would shoot it and then be nervous but they are outstanding.

Here is my buck of the year. Nothing spectacular by any means, but cool hunt considering all the out of state hunters that pound this area. (I hunt out of state also, don't blame the hunter).

Happy to harvest this buck at 383yrds plus. Older deer that was prefered off the property. Ran my .260 Sako M591 with a Broughton 5C barrel screwed on by Jered some time back. Running 142gr SMK. They did the job, but was through and through (shoulder). Will continue with some hunting pills for that rig.

Thats a good looking buck right there. I'd be proud to shoot a big mature deer like that any day.

Taken with .243 couldn't get a pic during day time in the field left the camera in the truck had to drag this bad boy a few miles back

Oh and as you can see on his right ear he was laying in some brush thought it was a forky took a shot off hand about 160 yards off only his head was poking out well I gave him a slight haircut and pierced his ear

took off running at about 240-260 yards smacked him in the back of the shoulder.

no fair, bucks are always bigger in KS...

central tx: first is a 13pt 146, next two are a 12 pt 127. both shot with an armalite ar chambered in 6.8 spc shooting hornady vmaxs
