Gunsmithing Bighorn TL3 Tenon

I’m going to make my first barrel ever for my Bighorn TL3. I’ve been practicing on the lathe and got the basics down and just want to confirm a few things first...

My measurements for the tenon length (action face to claw) required is .805”. Can anyone confirm? I’ve got some old stock and I’m going to turn some practice tenons first.

Yes


The bighorn print calls out a .790 tenon length +/- .005. It also calls out a .005-.015 clearance between tenon and bolt nose.

I have measured 3 and they were all within .0005" of 0.805" on the tennon length. Good luck!

I have a spreadsheet with about 345 receivers measured in it. If I pull the high and low out (the outliers) then the max variation drops inside 5 tenths. They're extremely consistent receivers.
