I am currently using an Alaska Guide Creations bino chest pack. While it works great there are times that a suspension system makes more sense (don't need all that "stuff" hanging off your chest). I am looking at the Crooked Horn bino strap system but am wondering what others are using for a heavier pair of Binos???

Here is the chest pack as recommnded on here I believe.

Thanks

Those look interesting. I wonder how they work under a pack?

Crooked Horn is the best system I've come across and works fabulous when you are carrying a pack. If you have a really heavy set of binos, not sure what you'd do for the best carry.

Re: Binocular Suspension System

Is there much of difference between the crooked horn and the alaska guide bino systems?

They look very similar.

Might be a piece of equipment I would invest in the future... hanging binos around my neck all day does my head in like you would not believe

Re: Binocular Suspension System

The Alaska Guide system is a pouch and does nto connect to your binos. The Crooked Horn is the strap with no protection for the binos...different applications. It would appear that I will leave the Viro Vellini neoprene strap on for both as the Swarovskis have a eye piece cover that is held on by the strap and the Alaska Guide Pouch has no strap to attach the binos to you (so you can just let go and grab a rifle if needed. I would hate to drop a set of bino's on a rock.

I would take photos but just sent my Swaovski's off for repair yesterday.
