I am curious what binos have these options other than the Steiner Military binos. I am looking for the following
    - Glass clarity on part with Leica or better
    - A usable mil reticle
    - range finder for 1200+ yards
    - 8 or 10 power

I would like to get something like this for PRS matches. I would like a large, clear field of view. I do not need a spotting scope, too big, to heavy and too much magnification.

The Leica Geovid HDR is the top of my list, I'm considering the H model also. but im still waiting for the new Vortex range finding binoculars to come out and see how they are. Camera land NY had some Leica demo models for cheap lately.

The only binos that have a real mil reticle and a rangefinder is the Vector IV/Vector21. At least, available here in the US. I have seen no other combination bino/rangefinder with a real reticle.

I do have the same use case that you do, and what I use is actually a combination of a Sig Kilo 2400 and a Vortex Recon R/T 15x. They make it in 10x. The glass on the recon is very good - its made in Japan. I have no issues with it. Some have complained that the end of the reticle closest to the edge of the glass is out of focus - this is due to the design of the optical path and not a flaw in the unit though. If you look at a Trijicon TA31 it does the same thing for the same reason.

The two units are very lightweight even as separate pieces, and you get ballistic correction in the Kilo2400, so no kestrel to carry.

    Not a smart ass question:
What purpose does a reticle have in a hand held bino under 10x? I can't hold anything steady enough to mil

They would be used with a tripod. I currently use a ~$300 pair of Pentax binos. The clarity with 8x is good enough to easily spot hits and misses at 1000 yards. I use them to get an approx wind call, find targets, get references for targets, etc.
10x with better glass would make it even easier while maintaining a large field of view. The reticle is to allow me to get an approximate size of the target and to give me a value of approx how accurate my wind call needs to be. It would also allow me to give accurate corrections to guys while practicing or whatever.
Spotters are great, but 20x I feel is too much for 600 yards and in.

Ah crap. I was thinking that the Minox had a reticle. My bad. Bushnell makes one but it's much bigger.
Id like to play with a good pair of binos with a reticle to see if I could make it work for milling. I see the logic.

Meopta HD Binocular with LRF is one of the best in this class working so well up to 1450 meters the view and picture is brilliant and cost mucheaper cheaper then Geovid or Swarovski.
