Bitcoin Miner? You've got child porn on your HD.

Not following here... BTC blockchain contains BTC transactions, unless you're saying in some of the messages people were including binary dumps of child porn?

That's fucked up if true. Although, I don't know that the messages were part of the protocol or not, so maybe not stored in the blockchain.

No idea what the message length limit is, but I'm guessing it's less than a low res jpeg that shouldn't be there.

FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU that is what happened...

Not surprising in the least. It's one of the main reasons I won't attempt to host content for a wide audience, and the platforms I am working on are not in that space. The policing operation is extremely important and requires lots of people to do reliably.

My best guess for something like that is a community-policed apparatus that requires users to sanitize content as a way to maintain access to the platform.

Like, instead of watching ads, take a gander at these few things and let us know if it's illegal or not.

Still not perfect, but at least I don't have to have an army of paid employees scouring hundreds of millions of videos/whatever looking for worst shit people can come up with.

TOR was designed so "our friends" in their home countries, could communicate without "our enemies" (as in the governments of their countries), listening in... Pretty sure the NSA doesn't give out toys that they don't hold a bit of extra knowledge about.... like when they were pushing a specific type of Elliptical Curve Encryption....

TOR might keep some things hidden from your local plod, but not if the Feds want in.
People a fair bit ago realized that Bitcoin was a bit too traceable & also everybody kind of knows what you have. Hence Monero and a few new currencies.

Bitcoin proper is a bit too public and also too expensive, with long transaction times for anything small, so it's right now mostly used for holding funds and hoping it goes up, or bigger block transactions.

But when it comes to hiding what you want, blockchain is just another idea, people were hiding good sized chunks of information just in IP packet headers going around between routers long ago.

Yeah, in this case, though, some asshole embedded a child porn image in a memo and now everyone that has a copy of the blockchain is in posession of child porn.

I like how people use the "FREE VPNs". If i was a government I would create a free VPN program that wasn't super fast but not super slow to monitor what my peeps were doing...

Most "anon" or "good ideas" usually are not ran by a saudi prince who wants to be a white knight...Just saying..

If you think, Or say the government doesn't have a finger in something, they probably do.
