I see places like Midway offering them every once in a while, and says mostly cosmetic
or first runs. Way cheaper in price.
Have you noticed a difference in accuracy when using them?
Don't want to order 500 and find out their first runs and the dimensions are way off.
Do you get what you pay for?

The only ones I've ever bought were from Shooters Pro Shop and mostly Custom COMP bullets and some Partitions.
All shot great and the only real flaw I could tell was some discoloration and some lateral marks on the meplat of a batch of 190CC bullets I bought.

I try to shoot blems whenever I can (bulk for the rest), I think they shoot just as well as nonblems.

Shooters proshop is great, flat rate shipping of 13 bucks so buy a thousand or two and save. For only buying 200 its worth it to by nonblems somewhere that they can go on sale and with free shipping coupons.

I just picked up some blems on sale from midsouth shooters, they publish the bc etc and all signs point to them being hornady 103 eldx bullets. It will be my first time with a non nosler blems but I expect them to shoot at least 1/2 moa with load development.

I think the odds are good that the bullets will be consistently good but it’s going to depend on the blemish batch. I have shot the 140 grain ELD blends and they we’re no different than non-blemish bullets.
I’m getting ready to load some 338 Lapua blems in 250 grain in 300 grain which is more risky in my opinion.

I've used blems that were clearly Sierra MatchKings, Hornady ELDX's, and some others. The worst defect I ever had were mainly weights being +/- 1 grain, some meplats were a bit wonky, or stains on the jackets.

My most recent blems were the may/may not be .284 175g Hornady ELDx's from MidSouth. $18 or so per 100.

None of these things had any appreciable effect on smacking IPSC sized steel inside of 700-ish yards. Instead of going 10/10, it would be 8 or 9/10 hits.

Reloading time = Trigger Time = Therapy Time.

I had pretty good luck with some 223 weights, and some 168 grainers shot fine in my garand, testing some out in a lr308, seem to be working out fine, I did once get some 168 amax that were missing a few tips

Just bought some 140gr Smk blems from midwayusa. Knew they were smk because they had the same description and used the same stock photo. Not sure why they gotta hide what brand they are.

Anyhow. Shot fine. As a matter of fact, I can’t even tell what was blem’d. Cosmetically, weight, and etc all were fine. *shrug

You can't tell from the picture or description. They just grab a stock photo and description that is fairly representative.

Yeah most of the time it’s obvious what they are but I’m not 100% certain what these are. Anyone have any guesses at what they are?

I bought 500 of the Hornaday 168gr match "seconds" from Midway a couple years ago and the bullets weighed +/- 8 grains from the nominal 168. It took longer than it should to divide them into piles to make them worth reloading.

I'll bet those 338 slugs are Sierras. Is there a difference between ' blems" and "seconds" ? I thought blems were mostly a finish problem. I have always had good luck with blems. Have never dealt with seconds.

Maybe. You can also tell from pricing. At least what I was thinking. I had some I thought was Hornady 308 178 from pic prices at $.18 / per, and this time what I believe is smk at $.24 per. I have some new ones I put side by side. Looks identical to what they are suppose to be
