Well, Donald Trump was able to overcome some embarrassing tapes that many thought would be the end of his campaign. Could Bloomberg do the same thing? Guess we'll see.
That is a good point and at the end of the day it will be an election that is either for or against reelection of Trump.
But minority voter turnout, and in particular African American turnout, is key to a democrat victory. That's one of the reasons the DNC wants to rig the vote for Biden - he's the only won the has a chance to attract the AA vote.

Once you understand that Trump is likely Autistic, probably low level Aspergers, you begin to understand 1. Why he talks/does what he does. It's a defense mechanism he's developed over many years operating at a high level amongst other high achievers/his extremely successful family. Incredibly competitive and ruthless. 2.
