Gunsmithing bolt rotation

Total 'noob question here...
Is it normal for the bolt to rotate about 5-10 degrees while dry firing w/ or w/out snap caps?
I asked the store owner and he said yes, and that the force of a live fire will not allow that to happen.
thoughts?
