Pretty plain and simple i am working on another Tikka build. Somehow i seemed to have misplaced the Bolt Shroud. I am going to order another one. but for the time being is there any reason i could not fire the weapon without it? is this a safety problem?

I imagine that the shroud is mainly to keep dirt off the calming mechanism and to help protect against blowback in the event of a pierced primer.
If it was me, I would probably shoot it a couple times to get rid of the suspense if it was new or improved.

it is rebarreled and has a new stock. i don't think in the case of a blow back the shroud would make much of a difference for a tikka- the factory shroud is a cheap plastic one
