This time of year I'm shooting almost directly into the sun or at just an angle when prone. I usually shoot two eyes open with my scopes and now I have to close my left eye to get a good sight picture and keep the sun from blinding me. I've used a towel over my head and scope but it's a PITA every time I cycle the bolt the towel moves and falls in front of my face. It is warm, but far to annoying to continue. I've even moved some of the range trash cans around to make a wall, but that's not always an option when the range master is around and there are still gaps as the sun moves. Tried cardboard too but getting good placement and setting up to not blowover is a pain as well.
Would a boonie hat or other wide brim hat be a good option? I hate shooting with glasses on as with my big German honker, the plastic on the bridge of my nose gets in the way good sight alignment. This has been bugging me for some time, finally need a better solution. What are you guys doing?
Thanks guys,
Hawk
